Dress Code

Uniform Rules

These rules are for your child’s safety. Failure to adhere to these rules could result in your child being sent home.

All students must wear their complete uniforms at all times unless otherwise instructed. Black shoes with black shoelaces must be worn to school and kept polished. Regular clothes can only be worn if a student is issued a “DRESS DOWN DAY” certificate. Sneakers must only be worn on gym days. When it snows, boots may be worn to school but students must quickly change into their school shoes upon arrival. Students can wear modest summer clothing for our 6-week summer program.

Girls

Hair must be well-groomed and kept neatly.
Uniform skirts must be at or below the knee. When temperatures drop and the weather is cold, girls are allowed to wear pants to school. They should quickly change into their complete uniform upon arrival.
No high heels should be worn to school.
No long or hoop earrings should be worn to school.
Girls should only wear one pair of earrings to school.
No nail polish is to be worn to school.

Boys

Only black dress socks and black shoes should be worn with the school uniform.
Only black pants should be worn with the uniform. No jeans.
A belt must be worn at all times.
No earrings should be worn to school.

Personal Hygiene

Personal hygiene is important to the academic and personal development of students.

Students must come to school in clean, ironed clothes every day.
Students must make sure their teeth are brushed and cleaned daily.
Students must make sure their fingernails are short and clean. No nail polish.
Students must use deodorant, keep their ears clean, wash their faces and bathe daily.
Students must try their best to minimize the spread of germs. Please bring tissue and hand sanitizer to school. Students must cover their mouth and nose when they cough and sneeze. They should stay home when they are not well.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS CAN BE PURCHASED AT COOKIES or IDEAL DEPARTMENT STORE. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE GYM SWEATSUITS, T-SHIRTS, TOTE-BAGS, AND TURTLENECKS ON SALE AT THE SCHOOL.

All Girls (Nursery-grade 8) Must Wear:

White, Peter Pan Short or Long Sleeved Collared Shirts.
White Long-Sleeved Ebenezer Prep Turtlenecks (Worn without ties in the winter months).
Black or Burgundy Sweaters (No vests)
Mustard Colored Floppy Bow Ties (Must be worn daily)
Kente Cloth Jumpers (Nursery-Grade 5)
Kente Cloth Vests and Skirts (Grades 6 – 8)
Yellow Ebenezer Prep School Crest (Worn on the left of the Jumpers and Sweaters)
Black or Burgundy Socks or Stockings
Black School Shoes (Sneakers can only be worn on gym days).

All Girls In Nursery-grade 5 Must Wear This Jumper:

All Girls In Grades 6-8 Must Wear This Vest, Skirt, And Necktie

*The uniform for girls in Grades 6-8 is only available in store at Ideal.

All Boys (Nursery-grade 8) Must Wear:

White Short or Long Sleeved Collared Shirts.
White Long-Sleeved Ebenezer Prep Turtlenecks (Worn without ties in the winter months).
Black or Burgundy Sweaters or Vests
Yellow Ebenezer Prep School Crest (Worn on the left side of the sweater or vest)
Kente Cloth Print Long Ties
Black Ankle Length Uniform Pants
Black belt
Black Dress Socks
Black school shoes (NO BOOTS) Sneakers can only be worn on gym days
