Pastor Marshall was a God-fearing man of faith, vision, wisdom and passion; he was highly motivated to helping people accomplish the impossible. After establishing Ebenezer Missionary Chapel in 1976, the Lord gave Pastor Marshall a vision to launch out into the community and address the need for a Christian educational institution. As a church sponsored institution, Pastor Marshall believed that children can best develop their potential through daily exposure to the Holy Bible in their varied academic activities.
Pastor Marshall was committed to training and delegating authority to the leaders, congregation and staff of Ebenezer’s church and school, and took the time to ensure that things would function well in his absence. He always emphasized that this work was not a “one man show”, and enforced the fact that he would not always be around. It was his burning desire to see people develop their God-given gifts. On April 7, 1994, at the age of 53, the Lord called Pastor Gerson C. Marshall home to glory. The church and school continue because of God’s Faithful Provision and Pastor Marshall’s diligence in training the men and women he left behind.
Today, Ebenezer Prep honors Pastor Marshall’s legacy by continuing to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through daily chapel services, prayer, religious instruction, praise dancing, community service and the annual Christmas Pageant and Gospel Fest concerts. The Ebenezer Missionary Chapel church family prays regularly for the school and provides unwavering support and assistance.
Ebenezer Preparatory School students, we ask that you help carry the torch lit by our dearly departed founder. As written in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” By shining your lights for JESUS, you are a positive representation of what Pastor Marshall and Ebenezer Preparatory School stands for.
